The portable PS5 would likely be a standalone device, meaning it wouldn’t require a PS5 console to play games. This is in contrast to the PlayStation Portal, which is a remote player that streams games from a PS5 console. This console is still “likely years away from launch.”
It is important to note that the portable PS5 is still in early development, and Sony may decide not to release the device. However, if the company does decide to move forward with the project, it could be a game-changer for the portable gaming market.
