Kratos in the Norse World – God of War

SIE Santa Monica Studio & Sony Interactive Entertainment collaborates with the eighth installment in the God of War franchise. God of War also known as God of War 4 is coming to the US, Europe and the Asia Pacific this 2018 on PlayStation 4. The US and Europe will have this game in April 2018 while in the Asia Pacific, it’s still unknown but it’s now available for pre-order!

The first seven games are loosely based on Greek Mythology. Now, this eighth installment is loosely based on Norse Mythology. For a heads up, Norse Mythology is the mythology of the North Germanic people. Paganism was the religion that time, so most of the North Germanic people are worshiping various deities, beings, and heroes derived from different sources from before and after the pagan period. These include the manuscripts and folk traditions.
After several years since the protagonist, Kratos took his vengeance against the Olympians gods. After his final battle against his father Zeus, he settles with his young son, Atreus in the world of Norse gods. The world of Norse gods is a land inhabited by monsters and warriors. He teaches his beloved son to survive the Norse world. During the training with Atreus, he realizes that his son learns more about his complex past. His son struggles whether he wants to be his father or choose to live a normal life.
The major change in this game is Kratos will use a magical axe called the Leviathan Axe. Unlike in the previous games, he uses his signature double-chained blades. The new features include a third-person, and over-the-shoulder free camera. Although you control Kratos, sometimes the players may choose to control Atreus passively.
