The 2016 release of the dark-humored adventure game by Pendulo Studios and Microïds, for PS4, XONE, and PC, Yesterday Origins is finally getting a port to Nintendo Switch. The upcoming game is expected to have its launch on the 1st of June this year. In addition to that, it is planned to be released digitally via Nintendo eShop in North America and Europe. And the good news for collectors is that the game will also be having its physical release, but only in Europe.

So what is Yesterday Origins all about? The story of the game started all out during the dark hours of the year 1481 under the era of Spanish Inquisition. The game’s protagonist, John Yesterday, suffered a public humiliation when he was dragged through the streets and locked up in jail.
So, this incident happened because of his renowned ability to read multiple languages and his ambidexterity. With this, he was accused of being the devil’s son. The Inquisition then tortured him in the hope that he will divulge his sins. And if he doesn’t die from the painful torturing, he’ll then be sentenced to death. With this, escape is the only way for him to survive this suffering.

Right after he escaped, he has gone through an alchemical ritual and surprisingly, it made him immortal. But, like any other good story, it appeared to be a total mess in his life.
All of a sudden, a scar was seen on his hand leaving him completely confounded. And as the story progress, he found out that it is a sign that his had lost his memories. So basically, his memories are traded in return for him being immortal.
In today’s generation, John lives peacefully with this partner in life, Pauline, who is also immortal. However, unlike John, her memories were retained. So now they will fix this mess together, solve the mysteries of the past, repeat the ritual in high hopes that John can keep his memories.
But, it seems like there are other beings who are also in search of these secrets… Who could it be?
