The gameplay for the sound novel is similar to the visual novel. It requires the players to interact with the text dialogues. However, the difference is the visual novel focuses more on the visual aesthetics of the game while the sound novel focuses on the music, sound effects, and the story itself. The game is accompanied with the song Ano Hi e (あの日へ, To That Day) by Higurashi veterans Dai and Yuduki. Meanwhile, the Switch opening theme song is Bokutachi wa Mou Shitteru by Matsuzawa Yumi.
