Metroidvania-style adventure, Dead Cells, is ready for take-off! Motion Twin and Merge Games are extremely excited to announce that Dead Cells is finally leaving Steam’s Early Access program. Merge Games even posted the retail box edition of the game on Twitter with a confirmed release date on the side.

Motion Twin announced the confirmed release date for Dead Cells on the Steam page. As stated, Dead Cells is making its debut digitally on August 7, 2018. While the physical edition for the PS4 and Switch will have different release dates per region.

In Dead Cells, you take the role of a Prisoner, a humanoid protagonist with a “flame” as his head. Yep, you read that right. Funny, but that’s going to be your head for the rest of the game, bro. So moving on, you are an immortal in this game. Your head always tracks its way back to the opening of the game’s prison areas. But, you don’t have the ability to voice out your emotions or whatever that needs talking. Because you don’t speak.

Moreover, the game features permadeath, weapon upgrades, and of course, the enemies. The enemies in this game will challenge you and every player at its core. Because these foes grow more powerful as you progress. But don’t worry, you will be having all the tools you need to survive.

So man up and surpass all the 13 levels with 4 unique bosses. Choose among the 80 weapons and skills which you can keep at bay. In addition, there will be 4 special powers available to unlock extra areas and paths.

Experience Roguevania game like never before! Defeat the final boss in one struggle, or you fight again. But you don’t have to worry when you reached your adrenaline-pumping permadeath. You’ll still keep some of your progress for successive runs. These include new paths you’ve unlocked, access to new levels, mutations, abilities, and weapons.
