Are you fond of playing horror video games? Do activities like having ghost encounters while solving puzzling mysteries intrigue you? If you are into this kind of thrilling adventure, Closed Nightmare is the game for you.
Closed Nightmare launched last week for PS4 and Switch in Japan and Asia. And if you still haven’t owned a copy of the game yet, we have something for you.
Recently, the Chinese version of Closed Nightmare’s gameplay was unveiled. A bunch of new details on how the game plays and various screenshots was revealed.

WELCOME TO YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE
The game starts off with the female protagonist. She awakens in the darkness with her left arm paralyzed. To make things even worse, all of her memories are all lost as well. So while she is trying to figure out what happened to her, the cell phone in the other room rings. And it’s a phone call from a mysterious girl named, Chizuru.
Chizuru tells the protagonist that her name is Maria Kamishiro. Chizuru forced her to participate in a strange experiment. And if she partakes in the said trial, she will be freed. The first test that Maria must surpass is to find a way out of the room.
The game is divided into video sequences, visual novel portions, and playable portions. The playable portions feature the escape room-like puzzle challenges that are found in most horror video games.
As the story goes on, Maria will receive items such as keys and other clues that are very beneficial for her escape. But, before she gets the items, she must solve the puzzles first. So good luck, folks.
Closed Nightmare offers a wide variety of options for the movie sequences. These include options like to pause, restart, stop, and switch subtitles on or off. Furthermore, there will also be a timeline for the events. With this, players can quickly go back to earlier parts of the game and try different paths.
Also, players can easily tell which choices were done already. The game will mark it out for them for easier reference. Moreover, the game features a character list. This list is made for the players to refresh their memory. And there are shortcut menus as well that is not often seen in other horror games.
At the end of the demo, the story map looked like the above image. The map measures the enormous amount of the entire game content. By the looks of it, there are multiple routes that the player can take. And the proportion of the overall length of the game is incredible.
