Munch In Some Juicy Tidbits From Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
It’s still 4 more months before the release of Super Smash Bros. But Nintendo reckons itself not letting the dust settle with the continuous deluge of information to keep their fans excited for its upcoming release. And we have collated some of the things that you must know after the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct.
Super Smash Bros. x Castlevania
First on our list is the much-awaited inclusion of the legendary vampire hunter from the Castlevania series, Simon Belmont. He’ll be sporting some of his signature items and moves in the game. And if you’re a fan, you will definitely be delighted to know that his iconic whip will get much of the spotlight. However, it must be noted that according to director Masahiro Sakurai, the whip will be quite slow. Hence, it will make him more vulnerable. The good side though is the fact that it has a longer average reach compared with the other fighters giving more advantage.

Regarding the stage, Simon takes dominion over the Dracula’s Castle. As per Sakurai, this stage will serve as the darkest stage in the game. Moreover, some of the Castlevania bosses such as Flea Man and Medusa will also appear in the said stage. On the other hand, it is still a mystery if Dracula will have an appearance. By the way, the Dracula’s Castle boasts 34 classic and new music tracks.

Apart from the expected names mentioned, we can also get a glimpse of Richer Belmont, Simon’s descendant. Richter will serve as an Echo Character. Moreover, we can catch Alucard, an iconic protagonist in Castlevania, as an Assist Trophy.

For those who may not be familiar with the term “echo fighter,” its definition is stated below for your convenience.
Echo Fighter. Edit. Echo Fighter is a term used to describe characters who are considered a clone of another character but who, themselves, is an entirely different character in general. They are featured in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

More so, below is the definition of an “assist trophy.”
The Assist Trophy (アシストフィギュア, Assist Figure) is an item introduced in Super Smash Bros. Brawl that, when picked up, breaks open and summons a random Nintendo or third-party character to aid the user. Assist Trophies work very similarly to Poké Balls.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Limited Edition x GameCube Controller
There is still more that we can expect from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Apart from the iconic characters that will be joining aborad, GameCube controller will quench the nostalgia that gamers feel with the bygones of the Switch controllers. Brace yourself with the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate [Limited Edition].
Releasing alongside the regular edition on 07/12, Super #SmashBros Ultimate – Limited Edition contains a copy of the game, a Nintendo GameCube Controller Super Smash Bros. edition and a Nintendo GameCube Controller adapter! pic.twitter.com/HgT0PilE2C

But just as how too-good-to-be-true it can be, this limited edition has a downside attached to it. This will only have one controller. Hence, it will leave you with the burden of looking for your old GameCube controller, if you have, or buy a new one. No need to fret, though. Nintendo has confirmed that the controller will be compatible with Switch using USB adapters.

King K. Rool In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
They say we need to save the best for last. And that’s what the Nintendo Direct exactly did. The final reveal on the said announcement was the inclusion of King K. Rool.

It was a surprise for some gamers. Or was it? But what we are quite sure of is the fact that the name comes off as a “slightly rubbish name.” Event Donkey Kong’s Country designer, Gregg Mayles, has something to say about it.
Never expected old K.Rool to make it out of DKC, let alone turn up in#SmashBros nearly 25 years later. Maybe I should have spent a bit more than 5 minutes coming up with his slightly rubbish name. https://t.co/X5PZpR54c2

But What Really Happened To Luigi?
Who wouldn’t be horrified seeing Luigi, Mario’s brother, obviously dead in the trailer? In the trailer, we’ve seen that Luigi’s soul is trying to lie back down to its lifeless body. Then suddenly a huge bleeding face peeks over the window. So what really happened to him?
Luigi's Soul is a brand new Echo Fighter that will be joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! His attacks may be weaker, but his ability to strike the very soul is a powerful trade-off, allowing him to knock enemies harder in the battlefield! pic.twitter.com/HXDXBrrtti

But after the presentation, Nintendo UK VS (@NintendoUKVS) was quick to assure fans that Luigi is indeed OK.
