Octopath Traveler: Update for Possible Chinese Localization, DLC & More!

Last July, Square Enix successfully released the award-winning turn-based JRPG Octopath Traveler for Nintendo Switch, in the US, Europe, and Japan. And after it was launched, the demand for Chinese localization of the game went up.
Although the game was also released in Chinese-speaking regions such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, and in some parts in China, the game is not playable in Traditional or Simplified Chinese.
This has triggered a huge amount of Chinese fans clammoring in the comment sections of Nintendo’s official Weibo account, demanding for a Chinese localization of Octopath Traveler.

Will Octopath Traveler’s development team consider this demand?
To shed us some light about this issue, the Octopath Traveler’s key developers provided their reaction to this in an interview in the latest issue of Famitsu. Well, looks like we have a lot to expect for the upcoming plans of Octopath Traveler’s dev team. Plus, the chances for a Chinese localization is pretty high. So, stay tuned, folks!
OCTOPATH TRAVELER IS OUT NOW
Octopath Traveler tells us the story of eight various travelers each with unique abilities. The game starts off with one protagonist. But as you wander around, you’ll be able to meet the other seven travelers. The game allows you to explore each traveler’s story and abilities that are beneficial for your venture.
Moreover, you can have a maximum of four active heroes in your troop. But once you encounter another hero, you can switch them into any of your current members at any time. Meaning, you can follow all of the traveler’s story in one gameplay.
Take the path you wish to walk and discover what prevails behind the horizon.
