Last year, we’ve learned that Arc System Works will be bringing the mystery visual novel, World End Syndrome, to North America and Europe in Spring 2019, for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. However, at that time, it was unclear if there’s going to be a physical release for the game.
And to end the confusion, PQube finally confirmed that World End Syndrome will be having a physical release. But, there’s a catch. PQube confirmed that the physical release of the game is for the PAL regions only. Which means, in North America, it will still be a digital release only.
So, North American players, if you prefer to have a copy of the retail version of the game, looks like importing is the only option.

World End Syndrome follows the story of a male protagonist who is living in misery after a traumatic incident. After the particular incident, the protagonist abandoned the busy city life and moved in the seaside town of Mihate. He transfers to a new school called, Mihate High School.
However, he has an unforgettable summer experience and another incident occurs in the peaceful seaside town. He joined the Mystery Research Club and hears about a local legend concerning the dead that is revived every hundred years, called “Yomibito.” As days passed by, a body of a missing girl is found, symbolizing the return of Yomibito…
