Last February, it was leaked on the internet that the Switch version of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is coming. After a small goof in the publishing side by deleting the trailer in an instant, THQ Nordic has officially confirmed that the Darksiders: Warmastered Edition will conquer the Nintendo Switch console this April 2.
Darksiders is a hack and slash action-adventure video game published by THQ Nordic and developed by Vigil Games. It was first released in PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 2010 in the West and March 18 in Japan. To follow the upgrades of the gaming consoles of today, THQ Nordic decided to port the Darksiders game in a remastered version for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 2016 and followed by Wii U on May 2017.
This game is inspired by the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. For a brief background, The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse described in the last book of the New Testament of the Holy Bible which is The Book of Revelations by John of Patmos, at 6:1–8. In this particular chapter, God has a book or a scroll in his right hand wherein the scroll has seven seals. The Lamb of God opens the first four seals which it reveals the four beings with the white, red, black and pale horses. In the symbolism, the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse usually represents war or conquest.
Now, let’s go back to the game. The game follows War who is the first Horseman of the Apocalypse. He’s accused by breaking the sacred law which it brings war between Heaven and Hell. However, it’s unknown to them that the demonic forces plan to conquer the planet Earth as these forces defeated the heavenly hosts.
Just like his name, War, you better unleash the apocalyptic power to engage into war in combining brutal attack and supernatural powers to eliminate who stand in your way. The weapons here in this game are different as the arsenals are mixed of angelic, demonic and Earthly weapons to choose from. Upgrade your arsenals as you unveil the mysterious and powerful ancient relics. Travel through the wasteland and demon-infested dungeons for vengeance and redemption. This is the battle between heaven and hell. You must fight who wants to stop you from this epic journey from the angelic forces to the hideous creatures from Hell.
