Last January 25th, Dengeki PlayStation has revealed the newest game from the makers of the popular Disgaea franchise, Nippon Ichi Software. Nippon Ichi Software has unveiled the upcoming adventure game for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch entitled Satsujin Tantei Jack the Ripper or Murder Detective: Jack the Ripper (殺人探偵ジャック・ザ・リッパー) in English title. It’s confirmed that it’s coming to the Land of the Rising Sun this April 25th. No plans for Western localization as of the moment.

Following the announcement from Dengeki PlayStation, Nippon Ichi Software has opened the teaser website and an official Twitter account for Satsujin Tantei Jack the Ripper. So, are you ready to get intrigued as a private detective as it may go deep to the crimes or as a murderer in leading the crimes in fictional London?

For a brief background, if you are familiar with the works of Arthur Conan Doyle, you will get to know more about Sherlock Holmes. But not only Holmes will you see but also the notorious Jack the Ripper. Jack the Ripper was an unidentified serial killer. It was also believed that has been active to kill around the areas of Whitechapel district of London in 1888.

Are you going to choose between the path of good or evil? This game is set in fictional London where medical technology has developed. You play as Arthur Hewitt, a private detective who wants to unveil the absolute truth in the series of serial murders. After he discovers a dead body, he’s now able to see the phantom that calls himself Jack the Ripper. After that shock from this private detective, multiple cases have wrapped revolves around London. Are you going to prove these cases in rational judgment or will you let Jack the Ripper control you? The choice is in your hands, good or evil.

You have a choice to become a notorious murderer or an intellectual detective. In this game, it becomes a visual novel adventure to challenge your morality in the fictional London. So, your choice might lead to a major effect on the conclusion of this adventure game. Along with the main story, there are subsequent stories that you might unlock from meeting the conditions. There are good and bad endings for this game. Either you might get killed or unable to solve the cases. However, in every bad ending, a Bonus Theater will be played in chibi-art form.
