Release Date Reveal

After years of waiting, Vanillaware and Atlus finally revealed the release date for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim through a new trailer. The game is coming exclusively on PlayStation 4 in Japan. Folks, mark your calendars as 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim will arrive on your PlayStation 4 systems on November 28 this year.

Game Overview

Developed by the same team behind the critically-acclaimed Dragon’s Crown, 13 Sentinels bears the “Atlus x Vanillaware” label with the drive to produce a unique fantasy world, now with a science fiction, juvenile theme featuring thirteen boys and girls in a contemporary world.

The story unfolds from each perspective of the 13 main characters. By following the stories of each of them, the truth behind the “fate or ruin” will draw nearer.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is broken down into three parts: Adventure, Battle, and Archives. Savor the game’s story in the Adventure mode of the game. Try to solve the mysteries by using keywords obtained in conversations. Throw yourself in the Battle mode where you have to face and take on huge monsters with the sentinels. Dive deeper into the game story through the Archives mode where you can look back at the facts that have been revealed. Plus, you can also replay events and re-read and examine the mystery-filled story with a bird’s eye view.

Limited Edition

In case you missed it, Atlus will also be releasing a Premium Box Limited Edition of the game that will include the following:

• Base Game – 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
• Premium Box – featuring Vanillaware’s design
• Secret File Art Book (132-page) – features various artwork including the 1980s style magazine articles for the different characters as well as some unreleased artwork.
• Mech Paper Craft Model Kit – a collaboration with a papercraft model maker embodying a 3D model of the second generation type 13th sentinel.
• DLC Original Theme and Avatar Set – the theme will follow the premium box’s design and the avatar set will consist of 15: each protagonist, BJ, and Shippo.

History

Atlus Originally announced 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim last 2015 at Tokyo Game Show for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita and was poised for a 2018 release. However, the company has to push back the release date of the game and the PS Vita was scrapped, as it was reported that Vanillaware wanted to focus on a single platform only.

Western Release

In June 2017, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim was announced for a Western localization, however, as of the moment, no western release date has been announced. Stay with us for more updates!
