Wolfenstein: Youngblood & Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot

Let’s go back in 1982; on that year Time Magazine awarded the computer as “man of the year”, giving it huge popularity not only in workplaces but also among common people. Right after this cover has been seen,  a lot of people started to explore this new machine, and it is not a mere coincidence that during those 365 days Commodore released its legendary Commodore 64 home computer, Electronic Arts, MicroProse & LucasArts were founded, and that for the first time Apple Computer hit the $1 billion mark for annual sales. However there was a “but”, both hardware and software were very expensive, and very few people could afford the expenses to get a computer, and the relating programs. Due to this fact a couple of developers, Jim Knopf & Andrew Fluegelman, created a new, revolutionary kind of distribution in which they shared their programs to the final users in change of a voluntary payment. This idea led to the birth of the Shareware!
Exploiting the “try before you buy” sales model; since then many programs and games have been initially released as shareware. Classics like Duke Nukem, Commander Keen: Invasion of the Vorticons or Doom are born as shareware softs, being available through dozens of BBS from one end of the world to another.
Like pre-modern netrunners, hundreds of thousands of gamers downloaded and played all of them helping to create the gaming world as we know it today!

But among all these games, there’s one in particular who has been remained in the heart of a large number of people: Wolfenstein 3D!
An actual earthquake among the whole industry; the first FPS ever released sees Captain William J. “BJ” Blazkowicz hunt down nazi soldiers to prevent the conquering of the world. Featuring a vivid VGA 3D graphics, realistic sound effects, a brand new gameplay style; the first Wolfenstein’s episode was a big success which received numerous awards such as People’s Choice Award, and Best Arcade/Action Game. During these years the series continued offering a wonderful dystopic story worthy of the best Philip K. Dick. Showing a world under the rule of the Axis, who won World War II; William Blazkowicz finds himself to travel far and wide among the globe to destroy every cell of the forces of evil. With eight episodes released so far, each one more beautiful than the last, without any doubt Wolfenstein is one of the greatest sagas ever.
Finally this week a couple of new episodes will be released simultaneously: Wolfenstein: Youngblood for PS4, XB1, and NS & Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot for PSVR!!!

Both set in 1980s Paris; in Wolfenstein: Youngblood for PS4, XB1, and NS you control Jessie & Zofia Blazkowicz, the twin daughters of BJ, which must investigate on the disappearance of their father. According to the latest information, he should be in Paris, and they’re determined to rescue him safe and sound. To accomplish their mission; these girls are ready to burn the city of love eradicating all the nazi presence in Europe.
In Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot for PSVR, instead, you’ll be called to impersonate a hacker hired by the French Resistance. Hack the nazi robots, and use them against their owners. This VR-o-Rama adventure; promises an immersive yet open world side-story that will let you discover more and more about nazi technology. You’re humanity’s last hope; put an end to the chaos and brutal intimidation inflicted to people all around the world hacking and shooting as much as you can. The time is now!

Alone or with other rebels, get ready to enter in a dystopic past digitally or physically. Wolfenstein: Youngblood for PS4, XB1, and NS & Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot for PSVR feature a couple of mature, deep, and emotional stories full of unexpected variations and twists.
