Last week, the Pokemon Company teased a new Pokemon coming to Pokemon Sword & Shield. A new page dedicated to the never before seen Pokemon clothed with some kind of glitching effect appeared on the game’s official website. At that time, most of its details are hidden. But, after a few days, the company teased that an announcement is coming soon. Certainly, this is related to the mysterious glitched Pokemon seen on their website.

And finally, the Pokemon Company unmasked the mysterious Pokemon’s identity that was teased last week. The announcement was accompanied by a reveal trailer that centers around the new region-exclusive evolution of Farfetch’d.

Introducing, Sirfetch’d!

Sirfetch’d is a brand-new addition to Pokemon Sword & Shield’s Pokedex, but, we all should note that Sirfetch’d will be available exclusively to Pokemon Sword. From the name itself, the Pokemon sports a knight look with Farfetch’d’s signature leek melee weapon that has been sharpened to appear like a lance.

Furthermore, according to the company’s press release, “Farfetch’d that inhabit the Galar region can evolve into Sirfetch’d after experiencing many battles.” It is also worth noting that it will have its own signature move called Meteor Assault.

Here’s the official description of the company about the new Pokemon’s signature move.

Meteor Assault is a new move introduced in these games that only Sirfetch’d can learn! Sirfetch’d points its leek at the opponent and charges toward them at great speed. This move is devastatingly powerful! However, it appears that the move also puts great strain on Sirfetch’d. It will be unable to take action immediately after using this move.

Game Overview

Pokemon Sword & Shield will feature massive stadiums for battles to take place and new Pokemon characters such as Wooloo the sheep, Gossifleur, a cute little flower, Corviknight the flying taxi, and Snapping turtle Drednaw. It was also revealed in the special Pokemon Direct that a pair of legendary monsters will also be joining the game — Zacian and Zamazenta. In fact, these two are the characters designed around the theme of the sword and shield game.

Moreover, one of the core elements in the game is the Dynamax feature. It is a temporary transformation that can be activated in a given battle as a move. Using the Dynamax will allow your Pokemon to grow as giants with maximized power.

Furthermore, you can call up to three of your friends and play together in the multiplayer mode where up to four players can team up to defeat one of the massive creatures in the game.
