Hi there, fighters! Are you still enjoying DotEmu‘s beat ’em up game, Streets of Rage 4? If you are, well, publisher and developer Dotemu, and developers Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games are glad to share that Streets of Rage 4 got more than 1.5 million downloads! 

Here’s what DotEmu’s CEO, Cyrille Imbert has to say:

“We couldn’t be happier with the reception of Streets of Rage 4. We thank the fans who have supported the game from day one – a lot of the updates in the patch enhance the replay value for folks who have been with us from the start, additional updates are currently in production and we’ll have more to share on that soon.”

Cyrille added that they will always be grateful to the community for their continuous feedback. They also want everyone to know that even if they are not replying, they make sure to keep an eye out on every opinion, comments, and feedback. 

New Update – Now out!

You might read the word “update” there and yes, a new update for Streets of Rage 4 is now out featuring almost 80 updates in its gameplay, characters, bug fixes and was tested by the community itself.

DotEmu shared in their blog the main improvements for the update and you can check the full list below:

– Online improvements: better fluidity and stability, less latency.

– New online stats display options available on the HUD section.

– Balancing improvements for all main characters.

– Major gameplay improvements for all stages.

– Various bug fixes.

– Fixed rare random crashes. 

And just a quick sneak-peek on its rebalancing patch, it is centered on fixing and improving the character’s capabilities. Just like with Axel, his newest version is a lot faster, has better recoveries, and makes him more powerful. But that’s not all. He can also make Cherry even stronger.

Of course, what’s the thrill if bosses aren’t upgraded too, right? That’s why you may also encounter much stronger bosses in the new patch such as Riha & Beyo.

For those who are not familiar, Bare Knuckle IV or Rage of Streets 4 in the west comes from the all-time favorite classic game series Streets of Rage or Bare Knuckle in Japan. This marks the series’ comeback after Streets of Rage 3  was released in 1994 for Sega Mega Drive/ Genesis. Though some of the games from the series were ported and re-released on various platforms.

Moreover, this side-scrolling beat em’ up game is back with its signature gameplay with new mechanics, beautiful hand-drawn visuals, and an amazing soundtrack.
