Today we go back to the golden decade of shoot’em ups… the 1990s!
At that time, arcades were the greatest places to enjoy our free time on the whole planet; the world wide web was just born, and millions of people played games on their new 16-Bit consoles. With so much fertile ground for experimentation; a small Japanese company called Seibu Kaihatsu released a new shooting game that revolutionized the whole genre forever: Raiden!

The story of it takes place in 2090; when a race of alien invaders called Crystals started to attack humankind to conquer the galaxy. But not everything is lost; in fact, the World Allied Forces organization developed two aircraft exploiting the enemy’s technology. Heavily armed with guns, lasers, missiles, and bombs; they are the ultimate hope for us to not succumb.

Flying high through the terrestrial atmosphere to outer space; Raiden was a huge planetary success, and it has been ported on all computers and consoles at the time including FM Towns Marty, Super Famicom, NEC PC Engine CD-ROM, Atari Jaguar, Sega Megadrive, Commodore Amiga, and many other ones. Following its popularity, Seibu Kaihatsu created an actual series composed of five main episodes plus many other great spin-offs that expanded the Raiden’s universe to the infinity and beyond!
Today we can hear the roar of the thunder loudly and clearly; ‘cause the wonderful Raiden IV x Mikado Remix is finally available for Nintendo Switch!

New features mean more fun, Raiden IV x Mikado Remix for NS is full of them (in addition to its fast-paced nonstop action). For example, in the “Overkill Mode”, we can fill the special “Overkill Meter” to get millions of score bonuses, in the “Additional Mode”, we can shoot our way through two new special stages, or in the “BossRush Mode”, we are invited to a feast of bullets facing all the titanic bosses without a moment of pause.
