April 1940 – nine issues after the appearance of Batman, on Detective Comics #38 a new ally joins the caped crusader in the fight against crime… Robin the Boy Wonder!
Every week, the first Gotham Knight – and the first sidekick ever appeared in superhero comics – faced the most dangerous criminals of Gotham City to protect the common citizens from the evil deeds of The Joker, Penguin, Riddler, and Two-Face; inspiring the younger readers to overwhelm their limits, Robin paved the way to many other super helpers like Bucky Barnes & Wonder Girl.
As the most important member of the Bat-family, the career of the first Robin leveled up through the decades when Dick Grayson started to wear the blue ‘n black costume of Nightwing; and the red, green & yellow clothes of the “Boy Wonder” passed through the generations until Damian Wayne wore it as Robin V in November 2006. Not simple sidekicks, Robin and Nightwing are absolutely complex characters. And during the various incarnations; they have experienced serious problems like psychic trauma or post-traumatic stress disorder, but we can still consider both of them as personalities that promote positive moral qualities contributing so much to the development of the Bat mythos.
This is why in 2000, Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, and Red Hood, joined forces in the Batman: Gotham Knights series in which these four heroes helped the caped crusader to keep Gotham a better place. In 74 issues they move into an always-changing city that is the real New York it’s filled with a dense urban population, high-rise buildings, and crime alleys… on paper, radio & tv, Gotham City is a powerful symbol of humanity, in a relatively small part of the world we can experience various existences, and many cultural differences, all in a matter of seconds; without any doubt, we can say that this city encloses the world. A world that is shaped like a modern city with Expressionism and Surrealism aesthetics.

Finally, for the very first time in history, we can be one of these knights, and show Batman that we’re worthy of his respect with Gotham Knights for PS5 and XBXS!
Soon after the death of Batman and Commissioner Gordon; Gotham City is turned into a savage wasteland. An actual urban jungle where the most dangerous (and iconic) guests of Arkham Asylum are now free to walk around the city and do whatever they want!
Mr. Freeze, Talon, Harley Queen, Professor Pyg, Clayface, Penguin, and many other supervillains are threatening millions of good citizens in Gotham because the Code Black is on.
Only the younger generations can solve this explosion of madness; Nightwing, Robin III, Batgirl & Red Hood, can do all that is needed to save Gotham from certain ruin.
They’re paragons of virtue, power, and justice. Even if young, these 4 protectors are renowned for their liveliness, strength, and (obviously) incredible superpowers. Go around the most vivid Gotham City ever seen in a video game. We can fight our way to improve each hero’s unique abilities and powers. New moves, new tech-advanced gadgets, new incredible costumes. All of them will give us a very big hand to save the city from slavery!
