After its release in Japan last year, Aniplex has confirmed that Type-Moon developed visual novel Witch on the Holy Night will release in North America for PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch this month. In addition, this version is Limited Edition that comes with exciting inclusions like an artbook, special-Magician’s Basic Tune and a collector’s box.

And for those who are not familiar with the game, the game debuted in 2012 for Microsoft Windows with the Japanese title Mahoutsukai no Yoru. In addition, the new version for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch features high definition and is fully voiced.

Game Overview

Set in 1980s Japan, WITCH ON THE HOLY NIGHTtells the story of fan-favorite TYPE-MOON character Aoko Aozaki as she attempts to navigate the complex world of magecraft while also dealing with the everyday struggles of life as a high school student! Players will experience the thrilling origin story of this much-beloved character, penned by Kinoko Nasu, the famed creator of the Fate series, himself.

Story

“Near the end of the Showa Era. (Late 1980s)
In the old mansion rumored that a witch lives, Aoko Aozaki who just started learning sorcery, and her teacher, a young mage Alice Kuonji, lived together. But as if he was guided by an invisible string of fate, a young boy called Soujuurou Shizuki joins them and a strange communal life begins…”
