Playasia has now added Bitcoin Lightning Network payment options to our website, allowing customers to transact in Bitcoin without some of the common hassles! The Lightning Network allows users to send or receive Bitcoin quickly and with low fees by moving transactions off the main blockchain on to a ‘layer 2’ blockchain.
Bitcoin Lightning Network transactions can currently be used by all customers for all product types on our website. If you want to make transactions using the Lightning Network, you’ll just need to send some BTC to a Lightning-compatible wallet. Currently Bitcoin Lightning transactions receive a base 5% discount.
For select items, use the Express Checkout for order purchase and follow the on-screen instructions. Codes will be delivered right to your screen after the Lightning Payment has been received or the Bitcoin transaction has had two confirmations.
Currently, Bitcoin transactions either on-chain or via the Lightning network, enjoy a 5% discount by following the instructions below.
1. Navigate to the Bitcoin payment box under the “add-to-cart” button. Here you can select between BTC and satoshis for your convenience or just tap on the button and continue.
2. On the payment screen, you can select a variety of addresses and you can switch between on-chain Bitcoin payments and off-chain Lightning payments. The latter is much faster and cheaper!
If you want to send on-chain, you can select any of the accepted Bitcoin address formats (we recommend to just use the default, or you can opt to select Taproot for a slight reduction in fees)
3. Traditional checkout screens from Cart or Buy button
If you use the tradition checkout to combine your products with other items and to use coupon and loyalty coins, then you can choose the correct payment method on the payment option screen.
