Bandai Namco‘s highly anticipated newest installment in the Super Dragon Ball Heroes (スーパー ドラゴンボールヒーローズ) series is coming out this 2019 with its new title, Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission, the company announced. This time, Bandai Namco is taking the upcoming entry to the next level by porting the game to the latest handheld console of Nintendo, Nintendo Switch as well as to PC via Steam.

Bandai Namco also noted that for the first time in the series’ history, Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission is going to be the first installment that will be released in the West when it launches on April 5th this year.

In fact, Producer Masayuki Hirano who is known for his work on the Xenoverse series shared his decision to release the game in the western region during the Dragon Ball Games – Super Showcase. You can see his statement below:

Since the 3DS days, we published 3 titles on the 3DS and we always wanted to release the title outside of Japan as well. With the advent of the Switch hardware, and Heroes reaching a new stage from Dragon Ball Heroes to ‘Super’ Dragon Ball the timing matched perfectly here with the right environment. I received questions about Heroes. We’ve been listening to the voices of fans, and even during Xenoverse interviews, so I’m happy to say that we can finally release this brand. We would like to release this game on the Switch and also on PC so that as many people as possible can play it around the world. And this one will surpass that.

Game Overview

Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission is a card battle game that will allow players to form a team of 7 cards from a wide variety of 1,160 cards, and enjoy seven-verses-seven card-based battles. The game will feature fighters from across all the Dragon Ball universes with over 350 fighters available in its roster.

Dragon Ball fans can also expect for transformations never seen before in the series as well as a brand-new character designed by the mangaka (manga creator) of Dragon Ball Super, Toyotarou.

The game is set in a place called Hero Town which is described by Bandai Namco as an alternate reality where a Dragon Ball card game is the most popular form of entertainment.

Follow the role of the protagonist of the game named Beat and follow his adventure to become known in the world as the Super Dragon Ball Heroes’ champion. However, it will never be an easy battle. Get ready to face the games’ antagonists from the virtual game which appears in Hero Town and start destroying everything that comes in their way.

Join Beat as he jumps into the game world and teams up with various famous Dragon Ball characters as they try to bring back the peace in the real world.
