Near the end of the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, Platinum Games‘ latest project was revealed. It is a mech-centric cyberpunk action game which will be called Astral Chain. Platinum Games is also the studio behind NieR: Automata and is directed by the studios’ game designer, Takahisa Taura.

At the same time, the newest title from the studio is being supervised by Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya. The impressive character design of the game was produced by “ZETMAN” and “Video Girl Ai” manga artist Masakazu Katsura.

And guess what? Astral Chain is heading exclusively to the Nintendo Switch system and is set to debut on the said console on the 30th of August this year.

Game Overview

The game brings players in a futuristic city known as Ark. One day, the city of Ark was hit by a disaster when the gates of another dimension suddenly appear. Deadly creatures begin to emerge, wreaking havoc to the entire city and normal police forces are unable to hinder them from attacking the land.

As a solution, a brand new special unit called Neuron is formed to stand up against these foes. And this is where you’ll come in action. You’ll be able to choose between a male and a female character. During your adventure, the character you don’t choose will still be a part of Neuron and will appear as your younger twin.

More so, humanity developed a powerful weapon known as the Legion. Work in tandem with the Legion and use all sorts of combat styles to take down your enemies.
